While some economies are starting to open up, most of us remain under quarantine. It’s not all doom and gloom though.

Try not to focus on all the things you can’t do and think of a lot of new things you can learn with all the time you now have.

If you’re not quite sure what those could be or think you’ve tried everything, here are 15 activities you can do while under quarantine.

Meditation is a great way to manage stress and anxiety. New to meditation?

An app like Aura can help master the art of meditation, quieting your mind and mindfulness.

Similar apps include buddifhy, Breethe, Calm and Omvana.

5. Try a New Hobby

Pick up a new hobby, something you never thought you’d be good at. You might be surprised.

One of my friends picked up sewing and is now producing masks and headscarves.

Another friend picked up painting at the start of quarantine and is now selling small pieces on Facebook. She’s not Picasso but her paintings are very nice.

They both learned how to do this on YouTube by the way. Not sure what kind of hobby to try? Think about all the things you loved to do as a child.

6. Start Keeping a Journal

You can only binge-watch so many shows before your brain starts rebelling.

Journaling about this quarantine period might make for a good history lesson for your family later on in life. It’s good to preserve the memories of today.

Journaling can also help you cope with being inside so much and process your feelings.

7. Learn a New Language

I remember one of the challenges I had learning new languages was that I just never had the time to dedicate to the app.

I carved out 30 minutes here and there but it was not enough to completely grasp the two I was interested in learning – Arabic, and Spanish.

There are plenty of free language learning apps like – Duolingo, Babbel, Lingo Deer, and Rosetta Stone.

8. Exercise More

Build exercise into your daily life if you weren’t doing it before. Exercise helps optimize your immune system and you look and feel better.

There are many exercise regimens on YouTube but if you prefer something a bit more focused, you can try home workout programs like BodyRevolution and Zumba.

9. Pamper Your Feet

Most of us are used to the nail salon pampering our feet but that’s on lockdown till further notice so you can try it yourself at home.

You only need a few things for a DIY foot pampering session at home. This fantastic Revlon Pediprep Foot Spa includes a basin and a nail care set.

You will also need a nice Epsom salt foot bath like this one
