Eliminate Dry and Cracked Lips with this DIY Lip Balm

I’ve always had dry lips off and on depending on the weather.

Whenever this happened, I ran my tongue over my lips a few times or applied a generic lip balm, and kept it moving.

A few months ago, I stumbled across Mac’s Ruby Woo; a red lipstick in a velvety matte formula.

It’s a long-lasting colour that doesn’t require reapplication during the day or night.

It looks good on every skin tone and makes your face pop. The vibrant colour is truly iconic and reminds me very much of old Hollywood glamour.

I fell in love with it the minute I discovered it and couldn’t wait to get down to the Mac store to get mine.

On testing it at the store though, I realized the formula is very drying because of its design and doesn’t work well with dry lips at all.

It will make your lips wrinkly, dehydrated and unattractive within a few hours of application. However, I wasn’t planning on giving up my Ruby Woo over such a tiny issue.

Since the generic lip balm I’d used off and on hadn’t made any difference, I decided to create my own natural moisturizing lip balm.

After mixing a few things here and there, I created a great lip balm consisting of only 4 ingredients.

Apply to your lips every night before going to bed. It will take a few days before you start seeing a difference.

After a week of using the lip balm, I stopped having my lips crack through the lipstick.

Before application, I also apply a very light layer of the balm on my bare lips as a prep.

Even if you don’t plan on buying Ruby Woo, this lip balm is incredibly effective against dry lips especially as we launch into the hot Dubai summer.
